BLACK BELT KARATE GUIDE!
This guide explains how to earn your Millsberry black belt.
To
achieve the different belt levels on Millsberry requires both playing
the karate game and completing of a series of tasks. You also need to
maintaining your health, athletics, intelligence and civics but that
should be easy. Before you can earn your belt, this is what you need to
complete and the level you need to keep your stats above:
Stats:
No belt, going for White: 16% and over
White belt, going for Yellow: 28% and over
Yellow belt, going for Orange: 43% and over
Orange belt, going for Green: 56% and over
Green belt, going for Blue: 70% and over
Blue belt, going for Brown: 84% and over
Brown belt, going for Black: 98% and over

Tasks:
White Belt - Purchase a Gi at the Toy Store.
Yellow Belt - Send a "Thank You" card to robertjwilliams.
Orange Belt - Capture a picture of Sylvie.
Green Belt - Find the Sensei's cousin Patricks watch in the Colehurst Tunnels.
Blue Belt - Pass a quiz about past events in Millsberry.
Brown Belt - Fish in the Peabody Park Pond and find the wallet, ring and camera that were lost by the Sensei's cousin Patrick.
Black Belt - Grown and prune a Bonsai tree until it looks just like the bonsai tree in the poster given to you by the Sensei.

Earning the White Belt:
First, buy a "Gi and safety gear" on page 4 at the Tricks, Toys & Games shop
Now
you need to actually play the game. You need play the game and get 10
hits for both blocking and attacking. Don't send the score unless you
do. This can be accomplished in 1 day.
Congrats on obtaining your first belt, the white belt.
Earning the Yellow Belt:
The
task that needs to be completed for the belt is sending a thank you
card to robertjwilliams. First, go here and pick a thank you card to
send.
Leave the "From:" box as it is. In the "To:" box, enter "robertjwilliams".
Once
you send the card, you should see a message reading "You successfully
delivered a Thank You greeting to Robert J. Williams. Go back and see
the Sensei!"
Now you just need to get 10 hits for both blocking and
attacking 6 games. Since you can only send scores 3 times a day, this
will take 2 days to complete.
Earning the Orange Belt:
The task you need to complete is to take a picture of Sylvie.
To take a picture of Sylvie there are two things you must do.
1.
You must get a camera from the Home Electronics Superstore (or from a
YardSale) and leave it in your queue. DO NOT put it in your house or it
will not take the picture for you. You can buy either the digital
camera or the Point and Shoot camera.
2. You must visit Sylvane Lake while Sylvie is out.
To find Sylvie when she is out....
Sylvie
is out 3 times per day. She appears the first time between 7:00 am and
12:00 pm EST and is out for 1 hour. It's always from the top of the
hour to the bottom of the hour (8:00 to 9:00, for example) as opposed
to random times (like 8:17 to 9:17).
She makes her second
appearance 5 hours after the initial appearance. So if she's out at
10:00am she will be out again at 3:00pm
The third appearance
doesn't seem to have any time pattern but it's always in the evenings.
She is out for 1 hour each evening but you can't be sure of the time.
Check the Sylvie's Out section of the forum to see when she was last spotted!
Now,
once you see Sylvie, you will automatically take a picture of her. "You
just took a picture of Sylvie. Go show it to the Sensei!"
Earning the Green Belt
-
Find the Sensei's cousin's watch in the Colhurst tunnels The watch is
in the Colhurst tunnels. There are three hidden tunnel chambers that
could contain the watch. They can be accessed by following these
directions:
#1. Enter the tunnels, make a right turn and go to the
dead end. There is a rock on the wall that is clickable. Click that
rock and it will take you into the 1st hidden chamber.
#2. Upon
entering the tunnels go straight ahead and keep going until you reach a
place where you have to turn either left or right. There will be a
small rock on the wall that is clickable. That will let you into the
2nd hidden chamber.
#3. Follow the directions to chamber #2 but
turn left when you reach the left or right choice. Go straight until
you reach a point where you must turn right. Turn right and the wall in
front of you will again have a clickable rock. Click that rock and it
will let you into the 3rd chamber.
NOTE: The watch is not buried. It will be just lying on the floor of one of the hidden chambers.
Earning the Blue Belt
Take
a quiz about past events in Millsberry. The quiz consists of 20
questions and can be quite challenging, but all the answers you need
can be found in past issues of the Gazette. To view past issues click
the link for downtown, click on the Town hall, Historical Society and
headline news. Or if you're not in the mood to delve through the
archives, copy the answers below.

Earning the Brown Belt
Fish in Peabody Park pond to find the Sensei's cousin's lost ring, wallet and Camera
This is one of the easier tasks, but it can sometimes take a bit of time.
First, go to the pond in Peabody Park
Click
the link for Bobby's bait shack to purchase the bait you need for the
task. If you don't already have a fishing pole I recommend purchasing
the red fishing pole but that's just personal preference.
Purchase your bait - I purchase 3 of each type of bait they have in the bait shack.
Return
to the pond and start fishing. There are three locations in which you
can fish and I fish with each type of bait once in each location.
Keep buying bait and fishing until you get the three items
Make
sure you keep track of the items you do find (meaning the ring, wallet
and the camera) because it will not notify you that the task is
complete after you have caught the third item.
Earning the Black Belt
Grow
and prune a bonsai tree that was given to you by the sensei This is
actually easier than it sounds. The sensei will give you a poster
showing what the bonsai tree should look like and there is a book in
the bookstore entitled Caring for a Red Leaf Bonsai that also provides
some helpful hints.
The tree will show at the bottom of the "My
Place" screen below your trophies. The best advice I can give you here
is to wait until it grows all three tufts of leaves before you even
think about pruning it. That way you can ensure 100% that you have not
over-pruned it. I would prune it once and visit the dojo to see if the
Sensei says the tasks is complete. If she doesn't say it is complete
prune again and re-visit the dojo. Be sure to not over-prune your tree
or you will remove the tufts of leaves altogether.
It takes a few weeks for the tree to grow to the proper shape, so don't despair if it seems like a slow process.

COLHURST TUNNELS!!
To dig you need a few things in advance:
1.
A shovel. Use the colhurst shovel because it takes the least health
when you dig. But if you can't find one of those in the classifieds
then usse the heavy duty shovel from the hardware store in the garden
section, page 2. It takes the 2nd least amount of health per dig. The
regular shovel takes the most health when you dig.
2. A high level of health.
3. A high level of intelligence. This gives you 'hints' when you dig about good digging locations.

Once you have those two things you can go digging. On the main http://www.millsberry.com
page below where your mail messages are listed you will see a 'dig for
treasure' link. Click on it and it will take you to the colehurst
tunnels http://www.millsberry.com/colhurst/.
Click on the woman at the register and it will take you to the room
where you can purchase an admission ticket. Buy the ticket and then
click on the entrance to the tunnels.

Once you are in the
tunnels only dig where it gives you the message "Hint: This looks like
a good place to dig". If you dig once at a hint hole and you get a
prize on the first dig and you don't see the message again press the F5
key to refresh the screen. If the hint does not re-appear refresh a few
more times. If after a few more refreshes it does not appear again then
move on to another hole - it's not likely you will find anything more
in the hole in which you just dug.

in the tunnel and there are different prizes for each level. The

RAISING YOUR STATS!
Guide to raising civics points.
1. Donate anything and you will receive 5 civics points. (Worms are cheap (1 mb) and can be bought at the fishing store).

3. Play Galactic Defender Adventure (Score at least once on easy and you will receive 7 civic points).

Guide to raising intelligence points.
1. Buy a school supplies, then study for +1 intelligence per day.
2. Read a book from the library. Points depend on the length of the book.
3. Play Solver using the solver solution. (7 intelligence points each time you play).
4. Play Sudoku using sudoku solutions. (7 intelligence points each time you play).

Guide to raising fitness points.
1.
Play Kai's Ultimate Surfari. (Once you get all the trick moves, not
only is it an easy game but you can get up to 10 fitness points).
2. Play Hop N Drop. (After completing level 1, you earn 7 fitness points).

Guide to raising health points.
1. Buy a toiletry item. Then put the toiletry item you bought into your house and groom yourself for +1 health point per day.
2.
If your buddy is grumbly or lower you can eat a fruit salad, green
salad AND cheeseburger and you will gain more health points the next
day. I have gained anywhere from 4-7 additional points. But you must
eat ALL of it at one time. AND you have to eat the cheeseburger last.

How to Change your Buddy's Name:
Go to http://millsberry.com/buddy/create.phtml?msg=1
You must now select your gender and can change your name.

Sending pets in the mail:
1. Click on the pet you want to send. Then click play.
2. For Internet Explorer: At the top of the box it should have an address which looks something like this: (http://millsberry.com/home/actions/p... ... height=400).
For
Firefox: Right click under the text that says you played with it. Click
"page info". You will find the address there. Get the numbers the same
as IE.
3. Look at the numbers in bold. They will be different depending on the pet you are sending. Copy these numbers.
4. Go to the post office and click send a package. Choose any item. It doesn't matter which.
5. The address bar at the top of the page should look something like this: http://millsberry.com/post_office/?a... ... 2422503446
Replace the last numbers with the numbers you copied earlier. Now click enter.
6. The item picture should have changed to the pet.
7. Simply choose a greeting and send to whomever you want.

QUIRKS!
1. Many Millsberry items have some tricks. A few of the toy store items, if rotated, will change in some way.
a) The rubber snake will wiggle around.
b) The doll will have on disguise glasses.
c) The butterfly will turn into a caterpillar.
d) Toy submarine will turn into a submarine sandwich.

2. Antique lamps (which you purchase at the Donation Center:http://www.millsberry.com/communitycenter/donation_center.phtml will turn white if rotated.

3. Antique lockboxes can be opened with antique keys; however, they're much more valuable if you leave them unopened.

4.At the Mercantile Bank, if you click on the box of envelopes/papers
towards the bottom right corner of the screen, 'Lucky' will come out
and steal some of the cards.

5. In the school gym, if you click on the soccer ball next to Coach Danner, he will give it to you. This only works once.

6.The lab has a lot of fun quirks. If you scroll over an uncorked bottle,
the skeleton skull, or either of the frogs, something fun will happen.
Also you can get to the astronomy challenge by clicking either on the
astronomy poster or the Science Competition poster.

7. If you go to Robert J. Williams' house, you can play rock, paper, scissors with him. His username is robertjwilliams.
Scrolling your mouse over the nutrition pyramid in the cafeteria will make its outline darker, but otherwise do nothing.

One of the colored refrigerators change to white when you turn it.

Rotate the orange Lava lamp and it goes with another lava lamp and the shadow lamp is alot bigger and it's green
